By having what is called a wireless router in your home, you can have internet all over the house, providing your computers have wireless capability. The router plugs into your broadband line and you can access the internet from anywhere within range of the router.
Most computers now have a built in aerial for wireless connectivity, but if you have an older computer you can buy an aerial that will plug into your USB port. You just have to follow the instructions on the accompanying CD-rom to download the relevant software, and off you go.
One thing to remember is that if you can access your wireless connection from within its range, so can anyone else with a wireless-enabled computer. so you need to protect your connection. If they are downloading illegal content, or undertaking illegal activities via your connection, you will be the one to have your collar felt. Also, it may be possible to access your computer to download files and sensitive details, such as banking or credit card numbers, so getting some security software, such as McAfee or Norton would be a wise move.
