Going self-employed
Leaving the comfort of a regular income from an employer is not an easy decision to make, but for those brave enough to do it, generally they do not look back.
If you have been made redundant or taken voluntary redundancy, then now might be the time to think about working for yourself.
Income and cash flow
Making sure you are getting paid regularly and on time is a big part of being self-employed, and you need to work out a system to keep track of your invoices and payments. Also, make sure you know exactly how much you are spending on stock, or materials relative to how much you have coming in so you know you are not spending more than you are earning.
Business loans
You may need a business loan from the bank if you are self-employed, and you can get additional help in setting up your company from a business manager at the bank.
Self-employed tax
The big change to your life will be the need to deal with your taxes yourself. While this can be intimidating, it does not have to be complicated. We can help you learn how to deal with taxes, and how you can save yourself a packet by reclaiming all of the reliefs you are entitled to.
